Post-Pandemic Poverty Report
In 2023, we received the latest household poverty report for McLean County. Post-pandemic, poverty has increased with over 26,000 households struggling financially. Of those households, around 11,000 meet the definition of poverty and over 15,000 are ALICE — Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.
ALICE households struggle to get by, living paycheck-to-paycheck, often holding down multiple jobs.
Since the pandemic, there has been a 41% increase in ALICE households in McLean County.
