United Way of McLean County

United Way of McLean County, originally named Community Chest of McLean County, has been serving our community since 1935. During this time, we have supported a multitude of organizations dedicated to bettering the lives of others.  Today, our mission is to continue improving the lives of those in our community with the most critical needs by bringing donors, volunteers, government, non-profits, and businesses together to create sustainable solutions.

Our efforts focus on finding solutions to improve education, health, and income opportunities in the McLean County community. Our main three focuses include Workforce 180, Behavioral Health, and School Readiness. These programs provide opportunities for the youth in McLean County to better themselves and become contributing members of the community. Workforce 180 provides education, workforce skills, and opportunities to encourage young adults in the Bloomington-Normal community to achieve success. By advocating for these programs and providing resources when needed, we hope to improve the overall health of our community.

To accomplish our goals and uplift our community, United Way of McLean County collaborates with amazing community leaders and organizations. These community collaborators are devoted to a wide range of causes and issues that affect our community. These include helping and mentoring homeless and underprivileged youth, uplifting the local business environment, promoting higher education, and developing multi-cultural leadership programs. Many local businesses are instrumental in providing opportunities for workforce placement in our Workforce 180 effort. Donations to United Way of McLean County allow us to continue to work with these collaborators and improve our community.

Through workplace campaigns and individual donations, United Way of McLean County has managed to impact many lives in our community. We are thankful for any donation of money or time those in the McLean County community have provided. Community collaboration and participation is essential to making our community thrive and grow.
