Announces Leadership Transition

BLOOMINGTON, Illinois ——

The Board of Directors of United Way of McLean County announced today that David Taylor is concluding his service as President and CEO, effective September 30, 2026.

“On behalf of the Board, we thank David for his 12 years of service and his commitment to United Way and our community,” said Dale Avery, Chair of the Board of Directors. “We appreciate his contributions and wish him and his family the very best in their next chapter.”

During Taylor’s tenure, United Way strengthened its role as a community convener and helped advance important initiatives, including Workforce180; Feeding BN & Beyond, which responded to community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic; ThriveMind, a program assisting rural school districts with mental health services; the Carle Mobile Medical Unit; and our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

“It has been an honor to serve United Way of McLean County and work alongside our staff, board members, volunteers and community partners,” Taylor said. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful to everyone who has supported the organization and its mission. I'm excited for the next chapter, and I wish United Way and the entire team continued success.”

United Way’s programs, services and community partnerships will continue without interruption. The organization has an experienced staff team in place, and the Board is finalizing interim leadership arrangements. Additional information will be shared when those decisions are complete.

United Way looks forward to building on its foundation, strengthening relationships with donors and community partners, and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth and community impact.
