When passionate women step up, big things happen. Like distributing over 40,000 books to more than 4,000 children! 

All of this happened thanks to the efforts of our local Women United chapter. These women are part of a powerful network of community leaders who contribute expertise, talents, compassion, and philanthropy to support 180-degree change in McLean County.

Thanks to their energy and efforts, they raised awareness and expanded partners specifically for our childhood literacy initiative, in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. 

They are also the heart and soul behind the annual Power of the Purse fundraising event, which rallies hundreds of people to raise thousands of dollars to support the youngest of readers.
