Whether you work at one of our local universities or community colleges, like ISU, Illinois Wesleyan, or Heartland, a large local company, such as Country Insurance or State Farm, or one of the thousands of small businesses throughout McLean County, you know about the great possibilities for growth and change forĀ  Bloomington-Normal. McLean County is a great community with a rich supply of friendly neighbors and welcoming businesses. Supporting others in our community is second nature, whether that is through cheering on ISU during their playoff run or patronizing new or established restaurants and shops throughout Downtown Bloomington or Uptown Normal.

Because of this strong, established community, McLean County is isolated from some problems facing the rest of the state of Illinois and many areas of the country. Despite this isolation, McLean County has challenges to conquer, including poverty, wealth disparity, and rising mental health concerns in our youth.

Your donation to United Way of McLean County will help us build and support programs that will improve the wellbeing of McLean County. Our efforts are developed to improve lives all over McLean County in three ways:

  • Preparing at-risk youth for school and workplace, through our School Readiness
  • Treating mental health locally and preparing schools to better support students who are suffering from these issues through our Behavioral Health
  • Encouraging and supporting young adults to aspire to and achieving productive careers through our Workforce Development
